I'm a bit late, but Merry Christmas. I've been busy hanging out with family and taking numerous naps, while in between talking to that special person in my life. He's in New York right now (which is not where I am) and I miss him more than I thought was possible to miss a person. He doesn't come back until the end of the week, so bare with me if I seem whiny while he's gone. I did have a good Christmas, though, honest.
Christmas has become all about the gifts lately, but it shouldn't be. On Christmas Eve, I was at my Aunt's house, and one of my closest cousins got proposed to. That is what Christmas is about, I believe. Not just the birth of Jesus (which is true, as I am a devote Christian and believe in that stuff), but about love and happiness and moving on. Christmas is the signaling of another year ending and one more beginning. Goodbye 2010, hello 2011. It's about being with family and making the best of what you have, whether you get five dollars or a car. It shouldn't matter. Christmas is made special by the people you are with, not the presents that you receive.
Happy New Year.
Emac
