BLOG

It's been a while, blog.

I have no excuse. I fell out of the habit for writing a post, honestly. Things have gotten crazier and crazier in my life, but that doesn't mean I shouldn't make time to express myself through this wonderful medium. So, I'm going to get back into the habit of doing this!

I want to name you, blog. I'll name you GredandForge. Actually, even though that's cool, that's too long. Let's stick with just Blog.

I don't have an interesting post today, as I'm trying to get back into the swing of things. I went to visit the Ohio State University today, and the campus was simply AMAZING. Beautiful and friendly and just...so...huge...

Until next time Blog,

It's All Okay Now

Exams start tomorrow for moi. With three advanced placement classes I feel like I might die.
Did I mention one of them was AP Chemistry?
Did I mention I am an English geek and hate science?

Sigh. It was my own fault for taking the class, and this I know, but there is something about grades and me that I can't help. It's this thirst to prove myself, to show that I'm good at something. If I can get my grade as high as it's possible to at my school, then my intelligence can't be doubted. It's an insecurity, obviously. I'm trying to get out of this rut of worrying myself sick over my grades, and my cure: a special someone, some great friends, awesome music, and my mother. And of course, writing always helps me through things.

If you have exams soon, happy studying! If you've already had them, I hope you did well. Ever felt like you just have to be the very best to feel good about yourself? Let me know.

It'll be okay,
Emac

Merry Christmas

I'm a bit late, but Merry Christmas. I've been busy hanging out with family and taking numerous naps, while in between talking to that special person in my life. He's in New York right now (which is not where I am) and I miss him more than I thought was possible to miss a person. He doesn't come back until the end of the week, so bare with me if I seem whiny while he's gone. I did have a good Christmas, though, honest.

Christmas has become all about the gifts lately, but it shouldn't be. On Christmas Eve, I was at my Aunt's house, and one of my closest cousins got proposed to. That is what Christmas is about, I believe. Not just the birth of Jesus (which is true, as I am a devote Christian and believe in that stuff), but about love and happiness and moving on. Christmas is the signaling of another year ending and one more beginning. Goodbye 2010, hello 2011. It's about being with family and making the best of what you have, whether you get five dollars or a car. It shouldn't matter. Christmas is made special by the people you are with, not the presents that you receive.

Happy New Year.

Music

Music is what keeps me sane on days like today. I won't go into much detail, but school three days before Christmas, and then work from 5 to close, and then homework and writing an essay is not what makes a fun day. I did, however, see a special person in my life who gave me a special Christmas necklace. I am very grateful, and seeing the necklace has put a smile on my face all day. I'd like to thank my special person.

I thought maybe, on the second post, it was time to get into a few of my interests. Music, obviously, is one of them. I personally dabble a bit in percussion, and want to learn guitar and piano, and write my own songs. Not because I want to be famous, but just because I want to. I think it'd be fun to do, and I'd enjoy it immensely. Now if I could just find the time...

I am and always will be a Harry Potter fanatic. I listen to songs by bands based off of Harry Potter. The Ministry of Magic, The Remus Lupins, Harry and the Potters, and the Womping Willows are just a few. Other 'nerdy' bands include ALL CAPS, Skyway Flyer, The Oceanic Six, or Mike Lombardo. Please take advantage of those people, plus all of the covers by Tyler Ward, Julia Sheer, and Alex Goot. There are many untapped sources of raw talent out there, my friends. Better than Lady Gaga any day (sorry if you like her, I'm not a fan).

Besides loving everything related to Harry Potter, and music, I am a writer. I did, after all, start a blog. I write, I read, and I enjoy some history from time to time. Chemistry is interesting, but I am not a huge science or math person. There really wasn't a point to this blog except for to talk about myself, I suppose. Sorry to be so selfish, but after all, how can you connect to a person you don't know?

Keep Dreaming
Emac

P.S. I got 12 hours of sleep last night. I was sick to my stomach. I'm still pretty sleepless (it is one in the morning. I have to be up in five hours for school on the day before Christmas Eve. Yay.)

Lunar Eclipse

The Lunar Eclipse was this morning, around 2:45 a.m. and I missed it.

It's okay though. I was sleeping, as a special person in my life wanted me to. The eclipse will come again if I'm fortunate enough to live to see the day.

This is my first blog post, so I suppose I should introduce myself. Hello, I'm EmAC. Pronounce it e-mac if you so please. Like e-mail and mac and cheese, two things that I love. It sounds like a male name, in a way, or a rapper name. I'm neither a guy nor a rapper--I'm a 16 year old girl. I'm a writer. And I'm a sleepless dreamer.

Nice to meet you.
